get all dressed up and then he escorted us down to a super fancy dinner. It was so cute, they had our table all ready- complete with high chair and baby fork and spoon. We stayed in a beautiful room that overlooked the pond and then had a fabulous breakfast before driving home. Way to go Brett, you make us feel SO special!
Now, aside from Valentine's Day, the past month has been a big one for Miss Eden Marie...
First real food...
We started with sweet potatoes, then added bananas, and then butternut squash. She gets so excited when I put her in the high chair and squeals with her mouth wide open until I can get a bite in. This week we added avocado and mango- neither of which she was crazy about- but I learned that if you offer it enough times she finally likes it (or she just gives up). By the way, if you are wondering why I am letting a crazed truck driver feed my daughter, it's actually my sweet husband wearing his newest marketing product. Can you believe he actually bought 12 of those hats!
First shopping cart ride...
Eden is an absolute joy to take to the grocery store. She smiles at everyone she makes eye contact with, so we end up having multiple silly conversations with strangers as we shop. At last count we talked to 10 different people in the same trip due to "smiley girl".
First Haircut...
Do you guys remember ALL that dark hair Eden had when she was born? Well it all fell out at about 4 months except for a few random long hairs and a little patch right in front. It was painful, but I finally admitted we needed to do something about it. She was such a good sport!
The pictures are before, during, and after.
I was very hesitant to add our final "first" lest it jinx the tremendous blessing it has been, but then I remembered I don't believe that blessings are jinxable. So...without further adieu... Miss Eden Marie now sleeps through the night! It only took a short 165 nights for us to finally get it right... Now that girl was a pro at the whole "sleep training" business. I had been laying her down awake with no troubles for about 6 weeks, and then she would sleep hard... for 3 hours at a time. When I woke up the first morning and realized she had slept for 10 hours, I rolled over and said to Brett "Hi there. How have you been for the past 6 months?"
YAY!! Sleeping through the night is SUCH a blessing!!
